Heartfelt, intimate songwriters’ performance at WD Hall

By Alex Hickey

The first time I heard Dana Beeler sing was at a Little River Folk concert at the Petite Riviere Winery. Her voice made me sit up and take notice and her songwriting impressed me. When describing Dana its been said: “There is an old soul in that young body”. Nothing could be more true. Dana has been performing and writing her own music for many years. Her song ideas are pulled from years of getting out and living life, enjoying all there is to offer, and they are sung with a voice that starts deep in her heart and resonates out with all the passion and feeling she can muster.

Destined for great things, Dana is heading to the Gordie Sampson Songwriter’s Camp and will also be performing at the Harmony Bazaar Festival in Lockeport later this summer.

Dana met Jordan Cameron at the ECMAs and they hit it off musically right away. I can see why. Jordan’s Music PEI- and ECMA-nominated recordings are gripping and heartfelt. He and Dana promise to make a great team, performing separately and together, at their show at the West Dublin Hall on July 13 at 8pm (doors open at 7:30; show starts promptly). Our show is Dana and Jordan’s kick-off for a tour of NS and PEI. Let’s get out to the hall en masse to make them welcome and enjoy an evening of excellent songs!
